Compression spring
Compression springs are open-coil helical springs that offer resistance to a compressive force applied axially. Helical compression springs are used to resist applied compression forces or to store energy in a push mode. Compression springs are most commonly used in engineering, tools, automotives, aerospace and consumer applications. Compression springs come in a variety of types such as Conical, Barrel, Hourglass and Cylindrical shapes.
